To understand the art of Jazz Drumming, one must first realize that Jazz Drumming is indeed an artform. Just as you learn the spoken language, you must also learn the language of Jazz Drumming. This entails listening to recordings, practicing and performing.

Just because one may have a pair of sticks, does not mean play loud or hard. This mistake is often made by the misinterpretation of the word "intense". This mistake is also made when it is time to use brushes. Please do not let this happen to you.
